My love of crochet started several years ago after my brother announced that they were expecting a baby!
I thought, “I want to make something special. I don’t want anything store bought. What to make?” I then remembered that my sister in-law had crocheted a baby blanket for one of her friends a couple of years ago. I thought, “Well if she can do it, so can I!” I went on to Craftsy and purchased their “Crochet Lab” class. I also bought a few books and watched a lot of YouTube, and eventually taught myself how to crochet. After a lot of trial and error, I would happily say I’m an advanced beginner crocheter!
My first project was a simple scarf, next I attempted my future niece’s baby blanket. Yes, it was a little wonky but it’s one of a kind! Almost a year later, I discovered that I was going to have another niece or nephew, and I attempted my second Star Baby Blanket. What a difference a year makes! This one turned out much better.
Now I’ve tried my hand in all different types of crochet projects, everything from hats to amigurumi!
